Atlas - Cacciapaglia Collection

'Atlas - La Riscoperta del Mondo' (Rediscovering the World) is a true Atlas. It is a complete summary of Roberto Cacciapaglia’s career. This poetic collection retraces his journey starting from Sonanze (1974), the first quadraphonic album released in Italy and produced by OHR. It passes through his long collaboration with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and arrives at the Tree of Life for Expo 2015, which lit up to the notes of his music.

‘Atlas' is his new album, filled with different sounds and emotions. It contains 28 tracks: a beautiful collection of the composer's most important works. It also includes two extraordinary new tracks, Reverse and Mirabilis, and a special tribute to David Bowie with an instrumental version of Starman. These three tracks were recorded with the Celestia Chamber Orchestra, which he founded for the 'Tree of Life Tour'. Its musicians are young talents chosen from the contemporary music scene, to give a voice to young people and to the future of music.

‘Atlas' brings together and tells a long journey across 15 CDs. This journey is marked by constant research and experiment, moving towards a pure sound, for a deep and direct relationship with music. This music goes beyond genres or divisions. It speaks through a deep emotional contact, blending classical tradition with electronic experiments.

"In my latest works, I used innovative and advanced technology,” says Roberto Cacciapaglia. “These tools help bring out the hidden parts of sound: the harmonics, which Pythagoras called the essence of the Universe. I like to call them biological sounds, because these modern software programs work on the true essence and nature of sound. This is a clear example of nature and technology working together, not against each other. It is a beautiful sign for the future, not only for music."
