Incipit / Moz-Art K.488 ReComposed
“The Adagio from Mozart’s Concerto K.488 has always touched me deeply because of its simple beauty,” says Roberto Cacciapaglia. “Since I was a child, I listened with fascination to every note. Later, while reading the book Complice la Notte by Giuseppina Manin, I found that same emotion again. I was especially struck by Marija Judina, an extraordinary pianist who represents the highest face of music.
In this work, I wanted to deconstruct and rebuild the musical form and its alchemical connections. My goal was to stop and feel the depth within each single note.
When you listen, it might seem like there are added electronic or digital sounds. In reality, everything comes only from the piano. Special software simply expands the power of the acoustic instrument to manifest in space.
Every note is like a chime, bringing Mozart’s music out of history and into the present moment.”
‘Incipit’ is the first single and the opening track of the new album.
It had its world premiere on April 4th, 2024, the day of its release, at the Queen’s Hall in Edinburgh.
The track was recorded at Glance Studios in Milan by Gianpiero Dionigi, and mixed in stereo and Dolby Atmos at Pinaxa Studio by Pino Pischetola.
