Generazioni del Cielo

libretto

"Generazioni del Cielo" is a contemporary musical opera in oratorio form; born from the development of a musical language that has matured through polyvalent experiences ranging from classical composition to musical production for a wide range audience.  The subject comes from the will to tell an unusual story that is without actual events but with real felt and real lived emotions, with references from contemporary literature and inspired by sacred writings.

In the actual performance, the staging the music (classically conceived) is projected into a technological and multimedia environment, where it is possible the modern and ancient to interact.  Libretto by: Giada Manca di Villahermosa Music by: Roberto Cacciapaglia Stage design by: Massimo Scolari Costume design by: Pia Rame
The costumes were presented based on the criteria of abstractions in time and space. Where the fabric in someway pursues the topography of the body, using the functional course of bandages.

The scene is not an urban place or a pure landscape of the wanderer.  It takes place next to and inside an archetype: the ark as "the guardian of life ", the archetype of all the cities of the future.  But also the symbol of the regeneration of humanity "punished" with salvation, with the weight of his responsibility and remorse.  The abstract stage design, was meant to represent the music based on an analogical process, like a body placed next to its soul.  This explains the choice of the archetype: the ark.

libretto
Showing the interior of the ark was meant to be an invitation to look into oneself and to observe things with an interior eye, nullifying every distance between the observed object and the person.
